Cross-cultural Communications: Mastering the Challenges of Life as a Global Citizen; Negotiation and Conflict Management Skills – Getting What You Need With Confidence and Respect
A double bill of inspiration for your leadership vision! We all know it can be tough living cross-culturally and it can be hard to know how to ask for what we need with confidence and respect for the people and places we get to visit or even live in. That’s why it’s super important to understand how to ‘listen’ in more empathetic ways to what people need to hear - not just what you want to say! In this interactive 3 hour workshop, we dig deep into how to lead with empathy for ‘the other’ and how we can use our natural curiosity and compassion for others to be better leaders across the world. We will also consider what it means to navigate conflict in our personal relationships and what this means for building more harmonious relationships in families, in the communities and, ultimately, the world too :-0
This leadership development workshop is run by Clos de Gaye and The Centre for the Arts and Global Leadership’s founder, Caroline Watson, who is a highly-sought after communications coach and leadership trainer. With a background in the theatre and the arts, and having lived and worked all over the world, speaking multiple languages, Caroline is able to bring her extensive experience as a ‘third culture kid’ and global leader to navigate the challenges and opportunities of living cross-culturally. With wit, grace and a deep compassion for the world, Caroline believes we can all learn to be empathetic leaders in our personal and professional lives and bridge the gaps that would fool us into thinking it’s too hard to make friends with people so different to us.
Caroline normally works in more traditional corporate settings but, for the first time this summer, will be making her tools and techniques available to those attending our summer camp programmes, giving you an opportunity to not only relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Clos de Gaye, but come away with a concrete set of skills to use in your personal and professional life.
Workshop dates:
Saturday 12th July 9.30am - 1pm 70 euros, to include tea and coffee
Saturday 26th July 9.30am - 1pm 70 euros, to include tea and coffee
Saturday 9th August 9.30am - 1pm 70 euros, to include tea and coffee
Please note, all adult workshops can be delivered in both French and English. Many of our facilitators speak both languages but we also always have someone on hand to translate as needed. We are very warm and welcoming of both international and local visitors and keen to share our learning experiences with everyone!
