Peter and the Wolf - Classical Music Workshop and Performance for Children 5 - 14 years old
Expose your children to the magic of classical music and the instruments of an orchestra through this tale of a little boy’s bravery in his encounter with a wolf. Classical accordionist Milos Milivojević and violinist Anja Milivojević will share Prokofiev’s beautiful music in this day-long workshop, enabling the children to explore their emotional responses to the music and put together a performative response to it. They will also explore the relationship between music and self-expression, as well as learn about the discipline required to learn a classical instrument and the rewards of a career as a musician. Children will then have the opportunity to put together an element of a costume of one of the characters from the story, make a musical instrument themselves and construct the backdrop to a small performance of the story during afternoon tea time at Clos de Gaye.
Adults are welcome to stay for the day and either take part in the workshop with the children or enjoy some rest and relaxation in the gardens of Clos de Gaye. You can also purchase a brown bag lunch if you want to stay and eat with the rest of the group.
Date: Friday 8th August 10am to 5pm
Price: 70 euros, includes lunch for the children and a cup of tea for parents to see the show.
Please note, all of our workshops can be delivered in both French and English. Many of our facilitators speak both languages but we also always have someone on hand to translate as needed. We are very warm and welcoming of both international and local visitors and keen to share our learning experiences with everyone!
